  • Texas Governmental Alternative Fuel Fleet Grant Program (GAFF): The Governmental Alternative Fuel Fleet (GAFF) Grant Program, administered by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), provides funding to schools and government entities to purchase or lease alternative fuel vehicles, including fully electric, plug-in hybrid, CNG, LNG, LPG, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Schools that operate fleets of 15 or more vehicles may apply for funding, with grants covering up to $80,000 per school bus or $40,000 per medium-duty vehicle. Additionally, up to 10% of awarded funds may be used for charging or refueling infrastructure. Priority is given to projects located in nonattainment or high-pollution areas. READ MORE →
  • Texas Clean School Bus Program: The Texas Clean School Bus (TCSB) Program, administered by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), provides grants to replace or retrofit older diesel school buses, reducing students' exposure to harmful diesel emissions. Schools can receive funding for replacing pre-2007 diesel-fueled school buses with newer, cleaner models and/or installing retrofit systems to reduce emissions from existing buses. READ MORE →

  • Go Solar Texas: Environment Texas is urging state officials to resist efforts to make it harder for more Americans to go solar, asking the Public Utility Commission to reject El Paso Electric’s plans to place solar customers in a separate rate class and assess special charges and fees on their bills.
