Generation 180 is committed to advancing the transition to clean energy and supporting a cultural shift in energy awareness. Our 3-week online internship program for high school students kicks off with accelerated training sessions on different energy topics, incorporating hands-on activities and self-directed projects. Participants will learn about changes in the energy industry and the innovations enabling individuals to choose clean energy for the first time. By the end, students will have the skills they need to evaluate their own environmental impact, and how to implement meaningful change in their own households and communities.
With this training, students will be equipped to conduct self-directed projects spanning community research, outreach, and engagement—all designed to result in direct, measurable carbon emissions reductions.
The 3-week program is expected to take approximately 3 hours per day, including an hour long daily webinar and corresponding assignments and projects. This format allows participants the flexibility to integrate the program into their schedule and complete all training assignments and projects remotely, as individuals or in small teams.
At the end of each program, interns will receive a certificate of completion from Generation 180.
Each program session runs Monday through Friday for three weeks.
Participants must be rising high school juniors or seniors in the United States and will need a computer and internet connection to attend webinars and complete assignments.
The 2018 Student Intern Program sessions have been completed. 2019 dates will be announced when available.
